Matariki Celebrations

It was great to see everyone having a go at Ti Rākau. Some bits can get quite tricky. I was so proud of everyones effort.

We will keep practising the moves. Our next step is to learn the words. Watch this clip and and see if you can sing along.

Here are the words:
E hine, hoki mai ra.
E papā Waiari,
Taku nei mahi
Taku nei mahi,
He tuku roimata

Chorus:
Ē aue, ka mate au;
E hine hoki mai rā
Ē aue, ka mate au;
E hine hoki mai rā

Māku e kaute
Ō hīkoitanga
Māku e kaute
Ō hīkoitanga

  3. What amazing things you get to do at RSS! We miss being a part of it so very much. We are so impressed with all the things you have been learning and experiencing since we last saw you. There is no doubt you go to the best school in the best place on earth. You should all be very happy and proud. We love staying in touch through your fantastic blog. Matthew and I are going to try and learn the rakau words and actions - luckily we still have the rakau sticks Matthew made with Ngaire last year! Missing you all very much.
