ANZAC day

ANZAC day is fast approaching and we will all be on our school holidays. Check out this website with mum or dad which helps us to understand a bit more about this memorial day.

We have eaten ANZAC biscuits for morning tea - Yum. We looked up ANZAC biscuits on wiki-pedia and found that ANZAC biscuits were baked and sent to NZ and Australian soldiers fighting in world word 1. The biscuits don't contain any eggs - because all the chicken farmers had been sent to the war and there were not many eggs about. The biscuits were also good because they didn't soil and so could last the long journey from NZ to Turkey. In Australian law you cannot use the work ANZAC without permission from the Minister of Veteran affairs. If you make biscuits and call them ANZAC biscuits you have to make them to the original recipe.
