WALT: show positive relationships

Task: make a movie in a group to show how to encourage positive relationships in our class.

Check out this clip from the movie 'Narnia, Lion witch and the wardrobe' and see if you can sopt the different camera angles they use.

Why do directors use different angles? How does it make what your watching more interesting?

Roar....!

This term we are learning about how to create and show positive relationships. So for our poem this week we are learning the song lyrics for Roar, by Katy Perry.
We talked about how the song was not about the jungle but how you can stand up for yourself, be strong and fierce, stand up for what you believe in and have courage like a lion!
Poem of the week...Illustrated by Abby.
Ebony thinks it is a great picture because it shows her standing up for her self in the jungle and in the other picture how she stands up for herself in a soccer game with friends. Welldone Abby!

"Roar"
I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath
Scared to rock the boat and make a mess
So I sat quietly, agreed politely
I guess that I forgot I had a choice
I let you push me past the breaking point
I stood for nothing, so I fell for everything

You held me down, but I got up (HEY!)
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, you hear that sound
Like thunder gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up (HEY!)
Get ready cause I’ve had enough
I see it all, I see it now

[Chorus]
I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You’re gonna hear me roar

Now I’m floating like a butterfly
Stinging like a bee I earned my stripes
I went from zero, to my own hero

You held me down, but I got up (HEY!)
Already brushing off the dust
You hear my voice, you hear that sound
Like thunder gonna shake the ground
You held me down, but I got up (HEY!)
Get ready ’cause I’ve had enough
I see it all, I see it now

[Chorus]
I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
‘Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
‘Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You’re gonna hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You'll hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You're gonna hear me roar...

Ro-oar, ro-oar, ro-oar, ro-oar, ro-oar

I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
‘Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion
‘Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You’re gonna hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You'll hear me roar
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You're gonna hear me roar...

Poem of the week

This weeks poem is illustrated by Fletcher.

This poem also helps us to remember how to say the days of the week in Maori.

See if you can do it!

WALT: show positive relationships with others

This afternoon we had a chance to practise this terms value...positive relationships.

Here are some ideas we gad about what makes a good friend...

Here are some photos of us showing positive relationships with others at discovery time...

Kelly Sports

Today we got to try out some of the sports that are at Kellys Sports after school programme. It was heaps of fun trying out some really different sports.
