Week 4 Reflection

Here is our class reflection for this week.

Blue Group Reading

In the Blue Group we read a story from a Junior Journal (30) called 'Motocross' by Jan Tafford. Ebony emailed us some questions about the information and we used puppet pals to share our answers.

Here is the puppet pals movie that Bridget and Annaliese made.

WALT: say our mihi

KA PAI KORERO

Today we started to learn our mihi. A mihi is on introduction we can use that tells people where we are from and who we are. We recorded the first part and will keep adding to it as we learn it. Watch this space for the finished piece.

Here is the first part...

Ko Ruahine me Tararua nga maunga.

Ruahine and Tararua are the mountains.

Digital Dudes Challenge: Draw a picture on your computer or ipad that will illustrate this part of our mihi. You could draw the wind turbines too if you like. Remember to follow our successful drawing criteria!

You could use the computer a home and email the picture to Ebony or bring it along saved on your device. On Monday we will pick the best one to go with our recording.

NEW Korero Mai RSS Style!

WALT: make and read a graph

Now we know how to make a pictograph now we are learning to make a bar graph. We made one today with people to show "how we got to school today". We found out that the most popular way to come to school was by car and the least popular was to walk. The other ways included 'walking some of the way' and 'coming to school on wheels' like a bike or scooter.

WALT: make and read a graph

We worked in groups to make our own pictograph showing the item in our lunch boxes. Then we shared our findings with class.

Can you comment on what is the most popular thing that we have for lunch?

WALT: write a letter

This week in the Digi-Dudes we have bee learning how to use email. It is important to practise logging in and using our gmail and it has been fun to send emails and receive them too. So far we have emailed Ebony, a buddy from our class and our buddies from Rm 14.

How do you think we have gone on our WALT?

Digital Dudes Challenge: Find out your parents email address and either save in your contacts on gmail (if you know how) or write it some where safe (like your yellow book) so we could email your family sometimes too! You might also find out Grandma's email or a family member living in another city.
