Poem of the week

This week had a 3D element where we had to make the smallest, flying paper plane possible. Fletched also added the plane screwed up going in the bin. How creative. 

Helen's Leaving

It was a sad day for us because Helen is leaving us for the rest of the year to go and visit with family in Cambodia. Luckily we finished putting together our mihi art that we have been working on throughout the year.

Have a great time Helen, we will miss you!

Positive Relationships

Today we demonstrated how you show positive relationships with and activity that needed team work and encouragement. It was heaps of fun!

This week we are writing about a moment in time. Most of us are reflecting on the assembly our class hosted last week. Unfortunately we had some technical difficulties that meant we didn't all get to share everything we had planned but here is the keynote showing most of our learning.

Buddy class

This term with our buddies WALT say and use the maori days of the week and months of the year. 

To practise this we are making advent calenders for Christmas. We checked out pinterest for some ideas a raided the art room for craft supplies.

Orangatan Awareness Week

Liam from our school organised a whole week of activities to help is learn about how to save the Orangatans. He found out that the Orangatans habitat is being destroyed to make way for Palm Oil trees. To raise awareness we gave had climb a tree day, lost some of our playground for a lunch time to see what it is like for the Orangatan and today we raised money by dressing up in orange or as a wild animal and donated money. We also got a peice of fruit. What a cool week and for such a great cause. Awesome stuff Liam!
